Habitat Planners Ltd (HP) is a Kenyan consulting firm with offices in Nairobi and registered under the Companies Act (Cap 486) registration certificate No. C112498. It is recognized by the Government of Kenya as a legal entity.

Habitat Planners is a physical planning (urban and regional planning) firm and is also registered by the National Environmental Management Authority (NEMA) under registration No. 0465 as firm of experts for Environmental Assessments (Strategic Environmental and Social Assessment (SESAs), Environment and Social Impact Assessment (ESIAs) and Environmental Audits) in Kenya.

In addition, the firm is registered with the Income Tax Department in Kenya (PIN P051355840D), and complies with all legal statutes of Cap. 499, section 14 of the Registration of Business Names Act. Habitat Planners Ltd is also registered by Kenya Revenue Authority for Value Addition Tax (VAT) under certificate No. 0200089Z.

Habitat Planners is a Spatial Planning and Environment Consultancy firm professionally registered with the Kenya Institute of Planners (KIP), the Physical Planners Registration Board (PPRB), the National Environmental Management Authority (NEMA No. 0465 as a firm of experts for Environmental Assessments, SESAs, ESIAs and Environmental Audits) and Environment Institute of Kenya (EIK). Further, it is registered with the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) (PIN P051355840D & VAT No. 0200089Z), and complies with all the legal and statutory requirements of the laws of Kenya.

Our Capability

Through a core team of directors, sector experts and associate consultants, the consortium has built a strong pool of highly qualified and experienced human resources that handles multi-disciplinary assignments within the country and in the Eastern, Central and South African region. The firm has access to information hubs that are unmatched and also boast of excellent information technology equipment, technical and support staff that can handle small, medium and large assignments within Kenya and the Eastern Africa region.

The firm has successfully completed assignments for a wide range of clients including the UNDP, GoK, Kenya Railways, NEMA, KENGEN, KEPHIS and KWS, as well as international and bilateral agencies including AWF, WWF, ACC, DfID, and SIDA. In recent years, Habitat Planners has been involved in the preparation of spatial and urban plans for Nakuru County, Turkana County and Kajiado County. Associate consultants have also undertaken assignments in Djibouti, Rwanda, Uganda, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Tanzania, Zanzibar, Nigeria, DRC and Somaliland.
